So Hi-Ma Today!

Bear with me. I am having a "Hi-Ma" moment.

For those of you who aren't familiar with one of my most used phrases, "Hi-Ma" is short for "high maintenance."

High Maintenance- 1. Requiring much time and many products to keep their appearance at the current level. 2. And/or requiring much attention.

I need to be focusing on Property for tomorrow, but I just can't. Why?

Because I miss wearing these:

And I would love to drink one of these, but am afraid I would melt:

Cardigans? You haven't made it off your hangers in months. You are so adorable.

Oh and my hair. It's big. Still. Really big.

Cowboy boots?
My favorite item of clothing?
is that...you?

Don't get me wrong, I love summer!
But it is September 23rd...and still 98 degrees.

Jeans, I miss you dearly.
Pumpkin coffee, quit teasing me.
Cardigans, I need your cute and perfect versatility re-incorporated into my wardrobe.
Hair, please go back to a normal, cute state.
Boots, get back into my life! NOW!

Ok, I'm done :)

I just feel like my studying would be much more effective in my lovely Justins and jeans..pumpkin-flavored goodness in hand. Don't you agree?

Love y'all more'n my luggage-

Auburn's Identity Crisis.

What a weekend!

Friday afternoon, some FAVORITE Clemson folks rolled into ole' Macon.
The cast of characters: Townsend, Taylor, Michael, James, and Andrew.

We went downtown and stayed up way too late and had WAY too good of a time. I forgot my camera..sorry :)

THEN, the next morning was GAMEDAY! Woohoo!

Here are some pictures before my grandfather camera (now with a crack down the middle of the screen) died.
It was my fault- I only charged it for one night instead of two.

I realize this picture is awkward for a number of reasons.
1. I thought it would be great to take a picture on the balcony. Fitting all 5 of us = not my best idea.
2. James's position: our outside balcony doors do not stay open on their own. Thanks for taking one for the team J-Dub
3. My hair. I can't blame the camera for that one.

Either way..we were ready to go!!

2 hours, all backroads to Auburn.
Who wouldn't purchase fifty-cent coffee and an eight-dollar six-pack of beer at the first gas station we stopped at?

At this point in the trip, I tried to get Andrew to take a picture with me. Yes, in the gas station parking lot. I'm a romantic at heart, ok? He was slightly uncooperative. Probably because I had already played this song twice and sang at the top of my lungs with the windows down. I was in the middle seat.

Go ahead, turn your volume up...

After that stop, a Wendy's stop, a complete rock out to Celine, and ticking a mom off whose car of 13-year-old girls were flirting with the boys...

We arrived in Auburn!

We wandered around...

And then my camera was on it's last limb. I ran into about 100 people that would have made great photo-ops...but no such luck!

Tailgating was a blast!
I had never been to Auburn and it was beautiful! CROWDED. So much fun! Orange and blue everywhere!

Once we finally made it towards the stadium, things got a little OOC (out-of-control). I must have had "War Eagle"...or better yet, "War D@*n Eagle!" yelled at me at least 1000 times. Wait, I thought you were the tigers? That made the rednecks think. They didn't like that too much.

The first half, Townsend and I spent jumping up and down, high-fiving, fist bumping, and cheering. Clemson's running game was solid and D was doing a great job keeping Newton under control. Yet, the second half, despite our obnoxious yelling, team-advice giving, and crossing of fingers.. our Tigers came up short by 3 in OT. They put up a good fight though and it was a really fun time!

We left (sweet home) Alabama and finally made it back to ole Mactown..at 3:00am. Townsend, Michael, and James were sleeping like small children in the back. (T wedged between two snoring boys was pretty funny.) So to keep Andrew, the fearless driver, awake, I entertained him with the smoothing sounds of me singing "Rocketman", Rihanna's "Take a bow" (puh-lease!), and of course..the whole Eric Church CD. Bless him!

I'm still confused as to what Auburn's mascot really is.
It's ok, because apparently they are too.

For a whole 24 hours I forgot I was a law student! It was pretty amazing! So thankful for great friends!

Love y'all!

Today at Law School I learned, Volume 2.

SBA Election week = lots of yummy treats for us slackers who could care less to run for any position of importance while here at school.
I'm over it. I was president of this, chairman of that...I served on this committee, ran this event, taught this, led that..done. For now (I'm still fighting the itch). But there are a select few that made it to law school and still want to keep on being that girl or that guy. Which is fine by me. Why? Two reasons: 1. I don't have to. 2. I get to eat the food they bring in to win my vote. Doughnuts before criminal, candy during torts, cake after property, and labeled water bottles to wash them all down.

Boys are just as obsessed with fantasy football here as they were in undergrad.
I walked up to a group of my testosterone-filled colleagues on a break after property today to what looked like an intense, law-related discussion...

Me: "Hey, are y'all going over the elements of acquisition by gift?"
Boy #1: "Naaahhh man we are going over fantasy stuff for Sunday."
Me: "Oh ok. Anyone got Spiller?"
Boy #2: "Yes, Clemson, we got Spiller."
Me: "Very nice."
Boy #3: "Oh yea, but about property, you did straight up ballin' on those hypos today." *extends fist bump.

Boys!

Speaking of my property"ballin' hypos" that were apparently worthy of a fist bump, I also learned,

Answering 7 "hypotheticals" in class aloud in front of everyone makes your brain hurt.
Yet, you leave feeling like you could take on the world's problems and fix them in seconds. Yes, it really is that much of a high. A feat worthy of fist bumps.

Y'all are probably wondering what hypotheticals are, so I will give you a little background. Basically, the first 30 minutes of property we spend discussing/briefing the cases we read the night before. THEN- the teacher makes up hypothetical situations, with different sets of facts from the cases studied, and has you use the rule of law found in the previous cases studied to determine the outcome of the hypotheticals. Does that make sense?

So today, I was the lucky person to do the hypotheticals. Normally, she would call on me to do one or two "hypos", then the heat would be off and another person would be called to do another. But no no no, she must have thought I was cute or something because she just KEPT wanting to talk to me! The luck! It was all a blur. Apparently I answered correctly because we got all 10 minutes early and I survived. I looked at my friend and said, "How many was that? Four?" "No, you just did seven." What? Seven? I just did seven? Where am I?

Happy Wednesday! 2 more work days til fun time!

"Just think—you don't need a thing, you've got it all! All God's gifts are right in front of you ... God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that." -1 Corinthians 1: 7-9 (The Msg)

Best Friend Weekend.

This weekend was so wonderful for so many reasons!

Friday afternoon I took a nap on the couch. That sounds silly to even mention, but believe-you-me it was SO great! I don't even know what happened. At one point, I was lying on the couch watching Giada...then I woke up and the Neely's were on. If any of y'all are afternoon Food Network watchers like myself, you're also thinking, "What happened to Barefoot??" My thoughts exactly. Sorry Ina, you know I love ya!

Then a bunch of us went out to Mexican and I ate my weight in chips and salsa. No, I'm not kidding cause I just love that stuff! It was about twenty of us 1L's taking up almost the whole restaurant/the whole restaurants stock of Jose'. Such fun just getting to know everyone better and talk about non-law-school happenings. Then we went to the Hummingbird and listened to Drivin&Cryin! Yeehaw

Saturday, I got work done early because Townsend came to Macon!

Wooooohoo! Was sooo excited to have one of my very best friends come visit me! She, Rooms, and I went to lunch downtown and then we did all of our favorite things: took a trip to Target, ate some cookie dough, watched too much college football (Attention ACC- we need to have a little come-to-Jesus), read magazines, cooked dinner, rocked out to Newspring's "The Anthem", oh and sat on the balcony talking about life with THIS as the scene:

Then we stayed up WAY too late talking and catching up...
but hey, isn't that the point?

Oh, and I almost forgot! Saturday during the day, the three of us ran into Ross to look for a bag. We didn't find the bag, but Townsend was going to buy a scarf. I walked up to T as she was checking out and a girl I went to high school with that I haven't seen in 5 years was working there! We screamed and hugged and I said "Girl, what are you doing in Macon, Georgia???" She responded with, "Better yet, what are YOU doing in Macon, Georgia?" We exchanged numbers and are going to meet up as soon as she has a day off and I can catch a break (it may not be for awhile..haha) But such a small world, huh?

Sunday, TownsB and I went to church and out to lunch before she had to leave me :( Then I had to get back to schoolwork! Wooo...not. It was so nice to just relax for awhile though and not think about the stress of school!

These words will be motivating me to push through another week of craziness:
Best friends + Road trip + Clemson football + Auburn + Gameday + Night Game

Just 4 days away! How is everyone out there doing?
Thanks for all the prayers, support, and lovin!

Always-
LA

Two Things.

Hi, loves. I know I normally do not blog until late night, but so much has happened in the hour and a half I have been at school this morning, I just have to share.

1. This morning, I decided to wear capris to school.
I normally roll with a skirt or (longer, appropriate, jcrew) shorts everyday because well, it's hot. I haven't worn pants in a month and a half. But today, I was feeling a little dangerous...and then this email happened:

Mercer’s physical plant staff, HVAC contractors, and Georgia Power are working on the HVAC system. An electrical system issue has been discovered and must be resolved before the AC can be powered on again. We expect to have the HVAC system operating by late this afternoon. Since the temperature forecast is a high of 95 degrees for this afternoon, I suspect it will be rather hot in the building. I apologize for the inconvenience. We are working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

2. As stated in previous posts, we use lockers here at school.
It sometimes has a high school feel (except I never used a locker in high school because I never used my books, but they were there). Law school feels a lot like high school in many ways. Let's add another reason:

So, I am coming down the stairs into the library after criminal and..

Police man with a drug dog is chilling, standing by the door.

He's been there for 30 minutes. Really?

I still have torts, property, AND contracts class left. Today should be interesting.

Happy Wednesday everyone! Lots of love from me to you.

Merriment.

Mer-ri-ment: (n) high spirited fun and enjoyment.

Clemson, South Carolina... on Gameday.

Lovely girls at tailgate.

Happiness!

Future Mrs. Lee.

Apartment 8-ers.

Heyyyy TownsB!

Nothing in the world like it.

Why, yes that is Danny Lee Ford. And yes, that is an open beer can in his left pocket. I may or may not have freaked a little and approached him as if we were old pals. As you can tell from the picture, the feeling was obviously mutual.
"Hey Coach! Can we take a picture?" *throws camera at Andrew..
"Yea Darlin'! I gotta beer in my pocket though don't spill it!"

Scandyyy...Andyyy..Thanks for sneaking a girl a student ticket and making her day :)

Raise your hand if you love Clemson!

Love-

In Less Than 32 Hours...

I will be on my way to Clemson.

Yes, you heard me...C-L-E-M-S-O-N.

In less than 32 hours I plan to:
Have no set plans.
Not think about school.
Eat some food.
Slumber party at Ali's.
See a boy.
Go downtown.
Eat some tailgate food.
Feel sad I'm no longer a student.
Pretend to still be a student by using my old ID to get into the game.
Feel happy for the day since "I'm a Clemson student."
Cheer 1-2-3-4 at least fifteen times.
Sing the Alma Mater for the first time as an alum.
Yell at the freshman for putting their hand up on "echo" instead of "o'er"
Get chills during The most exciting 25 seconds in college football.
Miss #28 running back a kickoff for 90 yards to put 6 on the board.
Analyze the efficiency of the running and passing plays, and the defensive coverage.
Be that obnoxious girl that cares too much about football.
Eat tailgate food round two.
See old friends.
Hug them. A lot.
Jump up and down.
Go to church.
Eat lunch with my parents in Greenville.
Hug them. A lot.
Catch up on family stories since I live in a bubble now.
Feel really full because I ate too much lunch due to the fact my lunch cost more than $5 but I didn't have to pay for it.
Talk about how I ate too much.
Walk around downtown Greenville.
Play outside in Clemson.
Eat some Chick Fil A.
Get a peach milkshake before they go away for the season.
Feel sad peach milkshakes are going away.
Hang out with a boy.
Hang out more with friends.
Feel really thankful I went to the BEST university on the planet that I get to call HOME for the rest of my life!

Who's ready?! GO TIGERS :)
